:: Microfat Injection

When your face ages, your skin loses the fat deposits that provides its youthful appearance. This can cause wrinkles and creases, expression lines, sunken cheeks and thin lips. With a microfat injection, fat is distributed to these “problem” areas to restore the facial volume depleted by aging.

Surgery
The fat is withdrawn using a syringe and a fine cannula. It is then carefully prepared for re-injection through a small syringe and needle. A minor amount of overfilling is necessary to allow for fat absorption in the weeks following treatment. Because the material being injected is your own tissue, your body readily accepts the fat and outcomes are more predictable with greater duration than that seen with other injectable products.

Many patients are able to resume normal activity within a few days. Swelling, puffiness, bruising or redness in both the donor and recipient sites is to be expected, with the severity of these symptoms depending upon the size and location of the treated area. Avoid the sun until the redness and bruising subsides - usually about 48 hours. In the meantime, you may use makeup with sun block protection to help camouflage any bruising.
