Who can get the Photorejuvenation / BBL treatment?
Men and women with broken capillaries, a flushed appearance, brown spots, enlarged pores, sun damage, rosacea, freckles or hyperpigmentation will benefit from BBL.
How does it work?
The colors of the light are attracted to the brown, pink and deeper collagen tissue. The heat generated by the light targets and vaporizes the browns, coagulates the reds and heats the collagen. The body’s healing mechanisms take over and slough the browns, absorb the reds and thicken the collagen.
How many treatments do I need?
Although each person is different, the average number of treatments is five, one treatment every three weeks. In order to maintain your results, maintenance treatments are required – typically once a year.
Does it hurt?
There is a mild stinging sensation but it is very tolerable. Your face will be covered with a cold gel to reduce the sensation. The sessions are designed to provide little or no downtime. Your face may feel warm and appear flushed immediately following treatment.
What are the contraindications?
Some medications and medical conditions can interfere with treatments. Fully disclosing any medication you are taking will give your technician and Dr. Brown the ability to assess your suitability for this treatment. BBL is not recommended during pregnancy or if you have unrealistic expectations. These treatments cannot be done on tanned skin or patients that have Fitzpatrick skin type V or VI (Indian, African American).
How long does a session take?
Generally a full face takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. For other areas, time will depend on the size of the area to be treated.
